HIV & Hepatitis C – A Public Health Emergency of Nationwide Concern: Kentucky & Indiana’s Local Response Training Navigation

On January 12, 2017 12-1 ET this live webinar will characterize the HIV and Hepatitis C outbreak in Scott County in IN and regions within KY. The goal of the lecture is to review the epidemiology associated with the outbreaks in the two states and discuss the current control programs in Indiana and Kentucky.
Improving Indigenous Public Health Systems

Join the University of Arizona on January 18-19, 2017 for the first installment of this in-person workshop. Learn essential skills for improving indigenous public health systems through 3 workshops on policy development, program planning and evaluation, and budgeting. Sessions will include presentations, case studies, group work, discussions, and applied projects to improve your understanding of: the process of developing and writing policies in Indian Country and examples of policies that can target improvements in community health; how to determine and measure the right indicators for program planning and evaluation; and how to develop and monitor a program budget.
The Future Public Health Leaders Program (FPHLP)

FPHLP is a 10-week residential summer program at the University of Michigan School of Public Health that encourages underrepresented college students to consider careers in public health. The FPHLP begins May 22, 2017 and runs through July 28, 2017. Applications are due online by 12am EST on 1/31/17.
Build a Clinic II – Integrating Tobacco Cessation into Primary Care

This online course will, with the help of its partners, train up to 15 primary care clinics to add or augment tobacco cessation services and supports into existing clinical practice. Collectively the six, themed webinars and collaborative learning activities will comprise a comprehensive series on the skills and knowledge necessary to create, integrate, and operate an efficient tobacco cessation workflow within normal clinic operations.
