Presenter Cathy Frey has more than twenty-five years of experience working in a variety of different health care organizations. Currently, Ms. Frey serves as the Chief Executive Officer for the Central Valley Health Network (CVHN), a network of community health centers located throughout 20 counties in California’s Central Valley.

“Nothing About Us, Without Us, Is For Us” – Community Engagement for Public Health Planning

Join Region IV PHTC on Friday, June 16, 2017 9:00 a.m. EDT in Atlanta for a live in-person workshop. Participants in this interactive workshop are invited to consider the role of stakeholders from multiple sectors in creating healthier communities. In addition to building cross-sector collaboration, particular attention will be given to ensuring those directly impacted by public health concerns have a voice in decision-making. The workshop will cover practical strategies to identify and engage diverse stakeholders and gather community input, facilitation and participatory planning techniques, and organizational models for collaborative decision-making (from advisory groups to coalitions). Participants will have the opportunity to develop a draft community engagement plan throughout the session and are encouraged to focus on an actual program or policy that could benefit from such a plan.

Planning and Budgeting for Public Health: Part I – The Business Plan

Participants in this online self-paced workshop will learn about how business plans can promote success for public health programming. This session will give participants an outline to assist in building a business plan for public health activities, and overviews of public health finance and financial cycles within organizations.

Diversity and Succession Planning

This self-paced online course is designed to prepare participants as leaders in their respective public health organizations to both prepare for and take part in structured leadership presentations and conversations about their succession plans. The format of the training and exercises shows the participants how to integrate workforce and leadership diversity into each step of their activities.
