This fall’s announcements from the Public Health Learning Network and partners include an invitation to join us at the 2016 American Public Health Association Annual (APHA) Meeting and Expo and a heads-up about a newly published resource to help facilitate the integration of primary care and public health at the local level.

Check out the list below to learn more.

  • Join the National Network of Public Health Institutes, the Colorado Health Institute, and the Colorado Foundation for Public Health and the Environment on November 1 from 6–9 PM at The Studio Loft (in the Denver Performing Arts Complex, 908 14th Street, Denver, CO 80204) for an evening of networking with the PHLN, public health institutes, and partners! Please RSVP.
  • The Region V – Great Lakes Public Health Training Center (GLPHTC) undertook the Inquiry Toward Communities of Practice project to explore ways to improve population health through better dialogue between primary care and public health. Each state representative of the GLPHTC created short videos highlighting best practices and existing integration efforts to help others understand elements of successful integration, recognize challenges, and drive solutions to improve population health. The videos will be launched on the Region V – GLPHTC website in October 2016. Please contact Sophie Naji at smaali@uic.edu for information and updates.
  • The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), in partnership with the Public Health Foundation (PHF), invites distance learning professionals who are responsible for developing online training products to apply to participate in the CDC E-Learning Institute (ELI) Fellowship. For more information about the ELI Fellowship, visit phf.org/e-learning.
