As part of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation funded project to strengthen the nation’s public health institutes “to advance accreditation, policy advocacy and evidence about what works,” this brief explores the value public health institutes bring to the “new” public health.

This work describes how and why public health institutes are well positioned to serve as partners and network connectors in improving population-level health outcomes and fostering innovations in the public health system.
