Serena McCovery, MBA, is a Senior Program Manager for the National Coordinating Center for Public Health Training within the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI). She works with the 10 Regional Public Health Training Centers on various projects and helps support Project Firstline.
Serena has a passion for serving underserved communities and working in leadership training and development.
Before joining NNPHI, Serena worked in higher education in Student Leadership and Community Engagement, First Year Experience Studies, and Orientation and Transitions Programs. She lead students through several service initiatives and projects at Mississippi State University through the Montgomery Leadership Scholars Program. Serena presented at numerous higher education conferences on training and program development and facilitated trainings for faculty, staff, and student leaders. During graduate school, Serena served as an AmeriCorps VISTA with River Region United Way and completed certificates in Non-profit Leadership and Management and Healthcare Administration and Policy. Serena holds a MBA from Auburn University at Montgomery, and BSBA with a concentration in Marketing from Mississippi University for Women.
