Rob Schroeder is the director of communications at the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI), where he leads the communications team, builds NNPHI’s external and internal communications approaches and collaborates with network members on communications initiatives.
Rob’s background in public health communications was built at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) School of Public Health, where he served as director of communications and marketing. During his tenure in this role, Rob led the School’s communications through the COVID-19 pandemic and crafted communications plans toward expanding areas of the School’s portfolio, including law enforcement epidemiology, environmental justice and the Chicago and Cook County Health Atlases.
Before his time at the School of Public Health, Rob held communications leadership roles at the UIC College of Education and National Louis University in Chicago. His media background includes two years as a minor league baseball broadcaster, production work with Wisconsin Public Radio and reporting efforts with multiple newspapers. Rob earned his MBA in marketing and social value creation at UIC and completed his undergraduate studies with a BA in Journalism and a BS in Sport Media at Ithaca College.
Beyond the workplace, Rob is a competitive bocce player, competing in local and national tournaments, and enjoys a range of outdoors activities.
