THE NATIONAL NETWORK OF PUBLIC HEALTH INSTITUTES ANNOUNCES THE 2024 ANNUAL CONFERENCE
NNPHI returns this year with over 40 sessions to host the only national meeting that supports and highlights the work of the nation’s public health institutes to obtain actionable takeaways to bring back to their communities.

WASHINGTON, DC – The National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) Annual Conference returns to New Orleans, LA from May 21 to May 23, 2024, with the theme of “Building Pathways to Improve Public Health”.
Sponsored by Michigan Public Health Institute, NNPHIAC24 will be convening nearly 700 public health professionals from across the country.
“The NNPHI Board of Directors and full staff team is energized to host our NNPHI Annual Conference in New Orleans, the birthplace of the organization,” said NNPHI President and CEO Vincent Lafronza. “This year marks our twenty-third annual meeting. Over three days we will convene subject matter experts from public health institutes, state, tribal, local and territorial health departments, community-based organizations, and our national and federal partners, to explore innovative strategies and bridge public health system connections to advance health outcomes for all. Our growing network is stronger than ever and I am highly inspired by the great work underway across the country.”
NNPHIAC24 also includes signature events such as the poster session, president’s conference welcome, keynote address with Dr. Beatrice Berry, the awards ceremony luncheon, and another keynote address with Nelson J. Dunlap.
Sociologist, best-selling author, and award-winning lecturer Bertice Berry, PhD. Specializes as a writer and ghostwriter for others on a wide range of topics including race and gender issues, sociological studies, healthcare reform, and much more.
As the Vice President for Public Policy & External Affairs in the Institute of Global Health Equity at Meharry Medical College, Nelson J. Dunlap, J.D. has utilized every opportunity in his career to fight on behalf of marginalized communities and push for the advancement of health equity.
The NNPHIAC reflects the organizational commitment to bringing together partners to develop programmatic interventions that strive to address critical public health issues, strengthen public health capacity, and achieve health equity to protect and improve the health of all people. Each year, it brings together a diverse array of activists, scholars, and thought leaders to engage in critical discussions, explore innovative solutions, and chart a path forward for progress and equity.
