Mission Statement

The mission of the Center for Native American Health – a Public Health Institute for Indigenous Knowledge & Development (CNAH-PHIIKD) is to deliver public health education, research, and service, aligned with principles of Indigenous core values and engagement.

Vision and Impact

A healthy, productive world for Indigenous Peoples. Impact: The Center for Native American Health – a Public Health Institute for Indigenous Knowledge & Development (CNAH-PHIIKD) partners with Tribes, Pueblos, Nations, and urban Native American communities predominately located in New Mexico to address persistent health disparities and to achieve health equity through the principles of self-determination and self-governance. CNAH-PHIIKD’s impact is derived from its three strategic cores of student and tribal health workforce development, public health education and infrastructure development, and health disparities and health equity research.
