The National Network of Public Health Institutes Welcomes Adam Lustig as New Bridging Portfolio Director 

Lustig brings over a decade of public health policy development and program leadership to the role.

WASHINGTON, DC — The National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) recently announced the addition of Adam Lustig, MS as the new director of the Bridging Sectors to Create Health portfolio. Mr. Lustig will lead the Bridging Portfolio’s efforts to expand NNPHI’s capacity to lead projects and strategy by partnering with member public health institutes on innovative initiatives with an emphasis on addressing social determinants of health through effective cross-sector collaboration

“After an extensive national search, I am honored to welcome Adam Lustig to serve as the inaugural Director of NNPHI’s Bridging Sectors to Create Health portfolio,” said Christopher Kinabrew, MPH, MSW, NNPHI’s Vice President of Programs. “Adam’s depth and breadth of policy experience in public health and other sectors will enhance our network’s numerous initiatives and capacity-building efforts.”

Mr. Lustig was most recently a Senior Policy Development Manager at the Trust for America’s Health (TFAH). His responsibilities included leading TFAH’s Promoting Health and Cost Control in States (PHACCS) project. The PHACCS project seeks to promote the adoption and implementation of effective, evidence-based state public health policies outside the healthcare sector that will have a positive impact on residents’ well-being. Prior to joining TFAH, he was the Senior Manager of Health Systems Transformation at NNPHI where he developed strategies related to improving healthcare systems, alternative payment models, and supporting people-centered health systems; Mr. Lustig returns to his portfolio home at NNPHI with broadened relationships and deepened expertise in cross-sector collaboration.

“Over the past two and a half years, we have seen innovative partnerships develop among public health, health care systems, social services, and other sectors to provide services to underserved populations who have been disproportionately affected by the COVID-19 pandemic”, Mr. Lustig shared. “Public health now has the opportunity to build on these efforts to support a wide range of initiatives to improve the social determinants of health of individuals and communities across the country. I am thrilled to be rejoining NNPHI during such an important time to elevate the impactful work the organization and members are doing.”

Mr. Lustig has also held positions at the Advisory Board Company, the National Pharmaceutical Council and the University of Pennsylvania. He received his MS in Health Policy from the Thomas Jefferson University College of Population Health and a BA in Public Policy from the State University of New York at Albany. He will be based in the NNPHI Washington, D.C. office.
