This peer review article discusses the challenges of long COVID-19 in rural communities, including both health and economic impacts for individuals and health care providers/systems. As this study discusses, governments must consider how to mitigate the impacts of long COVID in these communities, including by encouraging vaccine uptake, conducting research specific to rural communities, and ensuring that rural communities have appropriate resources to treat both long COVID and other diseases among individuals who may lose their jobs and insurance due to the disease.
