Who is this Resource for?

Does your work or sector expect “the public” (e.g., your audience) to find, understand, and use your information, processes, and/or services? If so, this collection of organizational health literacy (OHL) resources is for you. Here you will find annotated, best practice links focused on organizational and system change, including trainings, guides, assessments, toolkits, and conferences. Per Healthy People 2030 (U.S.), organizational health literacy is the “degree to which organizations enable individuals to find, understand, and use information and services to inform health-related decisions and actions for themselves and others.” Dr. Rima Rudd describes health literacy as an interaction. Her Health Literacy in Action model (see slide 27 at the link) posits this interaction as one between system participants (public, patients, professionals), text (words and meaning), task (activities), and context (structural facilitators and barriers).
