Sophona Coronado is the grants and contracts system specialist for the National Network of Public Health Institutes. In this role, she works closely and directly with the grants and contracts officer in collaborating with and supporting the NNPHI staff in reviewing Agreements to ensure efficient and effective administration of NNPHI grants, & contracts.
Additionally, she provides support to the NNPHI grants and contracts officer and to the NNPHI staff by providing and implementing the plan for the efficient management of the full cycle subrecipient/contract award administration, including working with the Grants and Contracts team in leading the implementation and general administration of the CLM system, ensuring the CRM system is updated timely for agreements, providing accurate status reporting, and timely close out of grants/contracts granted.
Sophona also serves to work on its finance/administration team serving all portfolios. The finance/administration team manages, reviews, and negotiates agreements in accordance with funding requirements or regulations across all NNPHI portfolios.
Sophona holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix.
Before joining NNPHI, Sophona worked for pervious government entities where government funding was at the forefront such as working with HUD related programs known as the community development block grants, emergency shelter grants, disaster recovery, infrastructure and economic development for public facilities.
Sophona is very family oriented and interested in social awareness. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, and many grandchildren.
