Pamela Albert

Research Associate, Epidemiology

Pamela Albert is a research associate II/epidemiologist at the University of Southern Maine’s Catherine Cutler Institute.  Pamela joined USM’s epidemiology team in May 2014, which is embedded at the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention in Augusta, where she provides epidemiologic analysis, surveillance, and support to several programs within the Division of Population Health including the Maine Cardiovascular Health and Diabetes Prevention Program, the Physical Activity and Nutrition program, the Maine Tobacco Control Program, and the Maine Suicide Prevention Program.

Pamela has experience working with the state’s Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System and the Maine Integrated Youth Health Survey datasets as well as working on varied topics including chronic disease (cardiovascular disease, diabetes) and their associated risk factors (overweight/obesity, physical activity, nutrition, tobacco-use), and injury prevention (suicide).  She has experience using a variety of software such as SAS, ArcGIS, InstantAtlas, Adobe Illustrator, and Excel.
