As Senior Data Entrepreneur at the CDC Foundation, Joe is the organization’s expert in public health agency use of data and information systems in the US. Joe leads efforts to improve the production and use of information to protect the public’s health in the USA. He has over 25 years of private and public epidemiology and informatics experience, including 18 years as Director of Epidemiology for Marion County Public Health Department (Indianapolis). He has worked with many national organizations to improve public health informatics, and with clinical and academic experts to develop tools for leveraging clinical data for public health purposes. He has an MPH in Maternal and Child Health and a PhD in Epidemiology focused on access to health services.
