In the spirt of engaging public health organizations participating in the National Conference on Tobacco or Health (NCTOH), the National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) is hosting a webinar panel on Wednesday, April 1, with discussion of the critical role of public health and our partners during a time when support for commercial tobacco control is threatened. What options are there for public health organizations to mitigate the consequences of an industry operating in a lax environment?
The panel will look at five, ten and 15 years out, talking about potential tobacco industry strategies and how we in public health must collectively mitigate their efforts. We will examine the issue from research, community and public engagement, and legal perspectives.
The webinar will run from 3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. ET / 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. PT. When you register, you will be required to confirm you are not affiliated with the tobacco industry or an organization that accepts tobacco industry funding. Tobacco industry means any organization involved in the marketing of nicotine products other than FDA-approved cessation treatment.
