Communities, health systems, policymakers, and local leaders across Texas are navigating a rapidly changing healthcare landscape while working to strengthen the future of health in their regions. Access to timely, credible, and local data has never been more important.
Texas Health Insights is a new statewide data platform that brings together county-level information on health, healthcare, workforce, and community conditions across Texas. With an initial focus on rural health, particularly as communities and organizations prepare for opportunities under Rural Texas Strong and related initiatives, users can explore county profiles, compare counties, and download county snapshots to support planning, policy discussions, presentations, and community engagement. The platform was developed by the Texas Health Institute (THI), an NNPHI member public health institute, with support from CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, Commonwealth Fund, Center for Community Health at Cook Children’s and Driscoll Health System.
Texas Health Insights is designed as an evolving resource to support a wide range of stakeholders and priorities across the state. The platform includes data that can help users better understand workforce capacity, chronic disease burden, access to care, infrastructure, and community conditions across counties and regions.
While Texas Health Insights makes credible data more accessible, THI recognizes that data alone is not enough. THI works with partners across Texas to help interpret what the data show, identify priorities, and apply insights in real-world contexts. If you are working on rural health, primary care, oral health, workforce, maternal health, or related efforts, THI welcomes a conversation about how these data may support your work. The institute looks forward to learning and collaborating with partners across Texas as we work toward healthier communities and a stronger future for all Texans.
