University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute: Co-Director, County Health Rankings & Roadmaps

Overview:

The University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute (UWPHI) seeks an accomplished leader in population health and equity to serve as Co-Director of a nationally recognized program, County Health Rankings & Roadmaps (CHR&R).

CHR&R embodies UWPHI’s mission of accelerating capacity to create conditions for everyone to be healthy. With the program entering its second decade, a new Co-Director will have the unique opportunity to evolve an influential, highly respected program and deepen its focus on growing community power and advancing spatial and racial equity. The Co-Director will also cultivate and strengthen the program’s network of national, state, and local partner organizations and conduct high-profile outreach through national appearances and in media coverage.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Co-Director will lead and manage the development and implementation of the CHR&R program, represent the program in regional and national forums, and serve as a highly visible spokesperson in national broadcast interviews. In collaboration with the CHR&R staff, leadership and advisors, the Co-Director is responsible for developing, managing, and producing signature products, communicating with key audiences, and working with partner organizations and communities. The Co-Director is expected to carry out all aspects of program administration and develop grant proposals while nurturing an inclusive and collegial team.

In addition to being a national program, CHR&R is also a unit within the Population Health Institute. As a unit director, the CHR&R Co-Director reports to the UWPHI Director, Sheri Johnson, Ph.D., The Co-Director serves on the UWPHI leadership team and is responsible for integrating CHR&R into other institute work. The Co-Director will also contribute to research, evaluation, implementation, and teaching efforts, as appropriate, within the School of Medicine and Public Health.
