The National Network of Public Health Institutes (NNPHI) works alongside a steering committee of agencies, foundations, practice organizations, and program committees to leverage its extensive convening expertise and widespread network of public health institutes, training centers, and dozens of key stakeholders to enhance both programmatic content and the overall experience.
NNPHI seeks to hire three (3) Program Area Consultants to support content development for the 2022 National Conference on Tobacco or Health. These consultants should have experience and expertise in the field of tobacco control and will contribute to the review and selection of abstracts, the building out of conference sessions, and the development of invited content. NCTOH Program Area Consultants will be assigned to support 2 Program Areas depending on expertise and interest; the primary role of the Program Area Consultant is to serve as a liaison between the Program Area Co-Chairs and the NCTOH Content Manager to ensure that the content selection process is administered as efficiently as possible and yields the most relevant, high-quality meeting content from the field of tobacco control for the 2022 NCTOH.
Program Area Consultants will work closely with NCTOH planners and Program Area Co-chairs to read through their assigned Program Areas’ abstract submissions, organize abstract submissions by sub-topic area, rank submissions by review score, and support NCTOH Co-Chair decision-making as priority abstracts are selected for inclusion in the conference agenda. Program Area Consultants will work closely with the NCTOH Content Manger to ensure that all abstract submitters are notified of the decision status of their submission.
Eligibility: Eligibility for this opportunity is limited to NNPHI member institute staff or public health professionals who have previously served as a consultant to NNPHI in this NCTOH Program Area or similar tobacco control project.
- Demonstrated subject matter expertise in tobacco control and knowledge of current trends and topics in the field.
- Experience working with varied stakeholders in tobacco control including but not limited to federal agencies, state tobacco control programs, community-based organizations working in tobacco control, and private foundations and nonprofits.
- Experience with content development for conferences. Experience with the administrative side of abstract management tools a plus.
- Comfort handling, organizing, and manipulating data.
