Senior Research Associate

Rachel Gallo is a senior research associate at the Catherine Cutler Institute, Maine’s public health institute and an NNPHI member, and serves as the managing director of the Population Health and Health Policy Unit. She leads grant-funded projects which focus on improving healthcare delivery and health outcomes. She is a founding member of the Catherine Cutler Institute’s Data Innovation Project which partners with organizations to increase their capacity to utilize data to clearly define their work, achieve results, and demonstrate impact in Maine and beyond.

With a background in epidemiology, Gallo’s work primarily focuses on the utilization of quantitative data to support evaluation, research, and continuous quality improvement efforts at local, state, and federal levels. However, most of her work is mixed methods, and she enjoys the process of collecting, analyzing, and integrating quantitative and qualitative data to tell the story or explain the outcomes of a program, organization, or initiative. She has extensive experience working on projects that involve multiple partners or stakeholders.
