Madelyn Gustafson

Program Manager

Madelyn Gustafson is a program manager with the Environmental Health and Emergency Preparedness team at NNPHI. Madelyn has experience managing programmatic work across public health, environmental health and preparedness disciplines. She has expanded opportunities for the next generation of public health professionals by developing and maintaining internship programs in environmental health and through Public Health AmeriCorps. Through the Public Health Leadership and Education, Advancing Health Equity and Data Science program, she continues to explore the current workforce landscape to help break down barriers to recruitment and retaining the future public health workforce. She has experience in coordinating and managing environmental health working groups focused on climate, informatics, and preparedness with a constant interest in collaboration. At NNPHI, she organizes the Environment and Human Health Workgroup, a group that is driven by building capacity and shaping the role of public health institutes addressing impacts to the environment. Her creativity provides a unique problem-solving approach while remaining centered in program management and impact. Madelyn has a Bachelor of Science in Public Health – Community Health Education from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse with a continued focus and passion for environmental health. She’s often off discovering the next national park on her list, relaxing at a cozy coffee shop, soaking up the outdoors, or enjoying good music.
