Laura Hamasaka

Senior Strategist, Commercial Tobacco Control & Health Promotion

A health equity champion, Laura Hamasaka has a background in program development and implementation with more than 30 years of experience in local and national nonprofits, the public sector, and philanthropy. Laura has worked in a variety of areas: public health, youth development and leadership, and environmental justice. She has nearly 25 years of experience in commercial tobacco control including 15 years at Truth Initiative where she served as vice president of community and youth engagement.

More recently, Laura was a public health consultant working with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Office on Smoking and Health as part of the program services branch and the health equity unit.
