Amy Jean Jacobs

Program Manager, National Network of Public Health Institutes

Amy Jean Jacobs is a program manager for the National Coordinating Center for Public Health Training (NCCPHT). Amy leads innovative workforce development efforts including Project ECHO for Public, a virtual training modality that aims to de-institutionalize knowledge and build communities of practice for more equitable healthcare outcomes; and Open Forum: Next Generation, an annual convening that connects public health practitioners across the public health career journey. Amy also supports project management for Public Health Infrastructure Grant evaluation efforts and sits on the business development workgroup.

Prior to joining the team at NNPHI, Amy served as the chief of staff on the operations and executive leadership teams for the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Recovery Program. Amy’s public health journey started at the Ingham County Health Department in Michigan and continued as a FoodCorps AmeriCorps service member in New Jersey. Amy worked in program management at FoodCorps for years after, supporting health justice in the northeastern United States and beyond. Amy graduated with a Master of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and has completed meaningful studies with Health Justice Commons and A Sacred Passing. Amy serves on the board of the Mental Health Emergency Fund, a Baltimore-based nonprofit that offers stipends and peer support to folks in need. Amy is also an avid gardener, a dance enthusiast, and a dog parent to a lively cattle dog mix named Luna.
