Introduction to Administrative Equity Report

This Trailhead report details practices, procedures, and insights for public health organizations aiming to improve inclusion, belonging, and equity in the workplace. The report introduces the concept of administrative equity with the goal of assisting local and state public health agencies in identifying areas for improvement. This includes addressing barriers in finance, contracts and procurements, and human resources.

Trailhead’s goal is to build strong, widespread support for community-driven solutions in public health. To achieve this, Trailhead fosters collaboration between large institutions—such as academia, government, and philanthropy—and organizations that represent and serve directly impacted communities, focusing on three key strategies:

  1. We make administrative systems accessible and effective for our partners.
  2. We build relationships across the field of public health.
  3. We strengthen and protect the public health system.

Trailhead specializes in fiscal sponsorship and strategic public health programs. Its current programs focus on expanding access to comprehensive sexual health education, developing the public health workforce, strengthening clinic-community connections statewide, and improving the lives of those affected by cancer in Colorado.
