Improving Consistency in Classifying Child Maltreatment for Sudden Unexpected Infant Deaths

The National Center for Fatality Review and Prevention, part of MPHI’s Center for National Prevention Initiatives, published an article in the journal Pediatrics. The article was developed by four MPHI employees and aims to provide guidelines for child death review teams to improve consistency in classifying child maltreatment and distinguishing between hazards and neglect in sleep-related infant deaths. The study analyzed cases from 2004 to 2018.
