Fostering belonging in Colorado

Belonging Colorado, a special fund at The Denver Foundation, represents a new effort to bring Coloradans together and to build social capital across lines of difference. CHI partnered with Over Zero to adapt and administer the Belonging Barometer across the state with the aim to catalyze greater belonging and inclusion so that Coloradans and Colorado communities can thrive.

Working with the Colorado Health Institute means you have a partner with the deep expertise and implementational know-how to advance health equity and well-being. CHI is a nonprofit, mission-driven public health institute whose work is built around three pillars:

  • We answer critical questions.
  • We make sense of complex issues.
  • We support others to reach actionable solutions.

We’ve been doing this for more than 20 years. We understand Medicaid, behavioral health, and health systems in Colorado, and we know the people who must be at the table to get things done. We’ve worked on the ground not just in Denver but all around Colorado and the Intermountain West.

CHI is a nonpartisan organization. We do not lobby or endorse bills, ballot initiatives, or candidates. But we choose to do work that advances the cause of equity. As a policy-focused organization, we are committed to tearing down discriminatory structures and building up systems that promote health for all while righting wrongs of the past and present. We strive to make our work accessible to all, regardless of ability or language preference.

I have the utmost respect for work that the Colorado Health Institute does and the kind of objective data and analysis that you all provide. The legislature over the last decades has really relied upon this information, and we continue to be grateful for the partnership that you all provide.
