Program Associate, Leaders in Education, Action, and Hope

HRiA is seeking a Program Associate for the The Leaders in Education, Action and Hope (LEAH) Project. Hope. The LEAH Project is a science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, college access and career readiness program for low-income high school students of color in Boston Public Schools. The Program Associate will be responsible for implementing and supporting aspects of the LEAH Knox Scholars Program, including maintaining relationships with MIT partners and working with LEAH Knox Scholars (26 high school students trained to teach and serve at afterschool programs during the school year and work in biology labs at MIT over the summer). This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience, provide leadership, and make a significant contribution to a youth program serving Boston teenagers and children. Service Opportunity: Americorp Massachusetts Promise Fellow, Leaders in Education, Action and Hope

The Leaders through Education, Action and Hope (LEAH) Project is a college access, job readiness, and youth development initiative that recruits, trains, and supports low-income, high school students of color in Boston Public Schools (BPS), known as “LEAH Mentors,” to teach science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) lessons and provide homework help to elementary school students. The Fellow will lead and enhance the LEAH Project’s College Readiness Program (CRP), working directly and consistently with 20 youth (juniors) throughout the year. Through the CRP, the Fellow will work to increase the college-readiness of LEAH Mentors including managing a tutoring program, planning college visits, parent engagement events, and college workshops, facilitating Mentor orientation and weekly meetings, conducting site visits, and meeting individually with Mentors.

LEAH Project Summer Internship (High School)

We are looking for summer interns to work on the LEAH Project. The LEAH (Leaders through Education, Action and Hope) Project is a paid summer internship program that trains and supports high school students, called LEAH Mentors, to teach STEM lessons to elementary school students at out-of-school time summer camp programs.

Training Associate

HRiA is searching for a full-time, Training Associate for the Opioid Overdose Prevention Training Project (OOPTP), and for other related public health training and/or capacity building initiatives. Research Associate

HRiA is searching for a Research Associate for our Research and Evaluation team. The Research Associate will provide critical services in developing and carrying out research plans that will help inform public health intervention planning and measure impact.  The Research Associate will be involved in all aspects of studies employing both quantitative and qualitative methods from project management to instrument development to focus group moderation to data analysis and writing while working closely with the project lead/PI. Contracts Intern

HRiA is searching for a Contracts Intern to be responsible for contract file (Excel) updates, compliance and reconciliation, and to participate in improvement efforts around contracting. The Intern will work directly with the Budget & Contracts Director and three Budget & Contracts Coordinators to update and maintain department and project contracts, and may assist in budgeting and billing procedures as appropriate. The Contracts Intern is also responsible for contract retention.

This is an exciting opportunity that requires a keen attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a team and independently. This position requires a minimum commitment of 10 hours per week which could be split over 2-3 days.

Community Health Training Institute Community Engagement and Coalition Outreach Intern

HRiA is searching for an undergraduate junior or senior majoring in communications, community development, or health studies with an interest in public health and non-profit work. The position affords the chance to work collaboratively with a range of staff and attend community health trainings as they come up. The position requires a minimum commitment of 15 hours per week that can be split over three to four days (we can remain flexible).
